Best Beaches in Rawai Phuket, Thailand
When you think of Phuket beaches, names like Patong or Kata often come to mind as the most popular but if you travel down south, you’ll find Rawai, a beautiful, tranquil coastal area that has some of the best beaches in Phuket (not to be biased as I currently live here).
If you’re looking for crystal clear water, breath taking sunsets or places you can snorkel – Rawai has it all! I’ve explored the area and out together this quick guide to help you discover the best beaches in Rawai Phuket that are worth visiting.
Nai Harn Beach – Great for swimming and beautiful sunsets
When people ask me where to go first, I always say Nai Harn Beach. It’s a wide sandy beach with surrounding greenery and you can witness the most beautiful sunsets here.

You can expect to find families and couples to those coming along with their cute furry friends too.
There are beach beds you can hire which for 2 beds and an umbrella will cost you 100 Baht/£2.27/$3.09! Feeling thirsty too? You can get a delicious cold pressed juice of your choice or a fresh coconut at Double N Juice Bar which is also on the beach and by the entrance.
Here are a few beautiful images of Nai Harn Beach both during the day and when the sun sets:

Yanui Beach – Rawai’s hidden Beach gem
This is my favourite beach in Rawai by far. It is much smaller than Nai Harn Beach but it is an absolute must if you visit Rawai. It’s tucked in between Nai Harn Beach and the famous Promthep Cape viewpoint. If you like a more secluded and relaxed setting, this is the beach for you.
We stumbled upon Yanui Beach accidentally when exploring the area and is now our go to for a peaceful beach day!
You won’t find beach beds here but you can rent beach towels & an umbrella for 100 Baht/£2.27/$3.09.
If you’re interested in Kayaking you can also rent a Kayak and paddle out to the nearby island of Koh Man for a unique experience and capture beautiful picturesque moments.
There are also a range of food and drink stalls serving local Thai cuisine and fresh coconuts for a hydrating drink!

Rawai Beach
Rawai Beach its located right along the Main Street in Rawai, where you’ll find a stretch of beachfront lined with cafes, bars, restaurants, massage shops and your local 7/11 and Lotus.
It’s the heart of Rawai, great for relaxing with a drink enjoying the beautiful views of the sea and nearby islands.
I personally wouldn’t say Rawai Beach is ideal for a classic beach day as you won’t see many people sunbathing or swimming here. The sea is rather shallow and the shoreline is lined with so many long tail boats that are just perfect for a picture moment.

These long tail boats are used for island hopping and local fishing so you can haggle with the locals if you’re interested in going on a tour!
I would recommend doing a beach hopping day where you can explore all 3. If you’re renting a scooter, the drive between all 3 is absolutely breathtaking!! Here are a few pictures of the journey between the various beaches – doesn’t it just look magical?!
